Cartlidge House - Enter & View Visit Report
We wanted to find out how dignity, respect, quality of life and independence was being respected and supported in the person’s care, and how ‘activity-based’ care supported people to continue to be as active and independent as possible.

Summary
The visit to Cartlidge House would understand the resident’s experience of care and find out specifically about care of people living with Dementia, activity-based care, and access to health professionals.
We want to learn about:
- The environment - supporting Dementia, accessibility, activity
- The experiences of people living with Dementia
- Supporting people to continue to be as active and independent as possible
- Choices available to people
- Staffing levels and staff training
Key findings
- Staff were observed interacting well with residents
- Residents appear happy with staff
- Home needs some tender loving care
- Residents looked clean and well groomed; however one resident did have food spilt down their clothing
- Food is prepared and cooked on site
- Home has good Dementia signage
